I only know the summary part of the manga, so I will stick to the movie itself. The movie starts with two old friends( ? ) that coincidentally meet on a train platform. In this brief moment, they attempt to rescue a man off of the train tracks and in trying this, they are killed by the oncoming train. Or were they? The two awaken in a room with a few other strangers, all of which claim to have been killed. Accompanying them is a mysterious black orb which gives some very vague instructions on what the "group" needs to do. Basically the task is to kill aliens that are on the earth hiding out. Sounds corny, but it is far from that. The movie is so well filmed including cinematography, editing, locale that pretty much whatever the group was sent to do was going to be a treat. Lucky for us viewers, it was an exciting mission at that. As the movie progresses, we learn that each person is awarded "points" for surviving (since if not, well, they are dead) and what can be done with those points is part of the mystery. The effects are very good, and basic, not overdone at all. This makes it much easier to get into the film and the characters in it. The acting was very good, even if I personally had to be distracted from their performances by reading the subtitles. Either way, I could tell by visual features and expressions that it was well done. Each encounter gets more and more difficult, as one would assume, and leads to a very open ended climax that makes you want to see more. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from start to finish and recommend it to anyone that likes sci-fi and originality. Please Hollywood, can you keep your hands off and not remake this, let the Japanese do their thing, they have brought us a gem in this as it is. Enjoy. 6.9/10

Movie review:Does the Rock appear in every movie throughout the summer? Anyway this movie is based on a true story which makes it that much better when you see it. Reason for this? These "criminals" have to be the dumbest people in the world. The story revolves around 3 fitness trainers or muscleheads that decide they want the better things in life. Well, of course, the best way to get them is to steal it. The mastermind to this is Danny Lugo (played by Mark Wahlberg who again is great) who concocts a scheme to kidnap one of the clients of the club (Tony Shalhoub), and extort his millions. So he recruits Adrian (Anthony Mackie) and Paul (Dwayne Johnson) to exact this brilliant plan. I would dive into the plan, but I really don't think there was one. That is the beauty of the genius of the plan. They said "screw it, let's wing it" and since they are aforementioned idiots, this leads to some extremely funny moments. The movie itself is not action, but more of a comedy that just shows how dumb people are. So let's just say they painstakingly achieve their goal and score the money, but that is only half of it. In their own ways, one score wasn't enough due to their various eccentric behaviors and now a new plot is hatched, which you would think after the first plans failure (barring getting the money) they may have learned they are not cut out for this. There are plenty of little side plots in the story that when the movie sums them up for you in court, you will be just listening to the account of this heist and just plain out laugh, not even realizing you just saw it in the past two hours of viewing. The characters work so well off of each other that the humor comes fairly quick, yet subtle. This is all put together very well into a fine flick that delivers the laughs. I was impressed that Michael Bay pulled this off since he isn't known for comedy. Set in the 90s and in Miami, the look is just what you would expect, fluorescent colors, jean shorts, etc. all are abound. A very comedic look at a violent yet amusing crime that actually happened. I would love to know just how accurate this movie is, because it just seems so over the top on how stupid the characters were. Oh, one thing I noticed that I am unsure how this fits into the criminals lifestyles and is more used for humor:An obsession with the male sex organ, real and fake, the subject comes up a lot. All and all, an enjoyable movie and the Rock once again steals the show with his g-d fearing coke head character that will just keep you laughing. 6.6/10 IMDB 6.9 I personally think it was just a bit too long, but that is ok. Bonus for wrestling fans, look closely for a Kurt Angle sighting in this movie.

Movie review:Fans of Zombie movies should read this.It will not be what you are expecting.Yes their are zombies, and yes they get shot....but this movie is so much more than that.Completely character driven and the plot is so much more than a zombie flick.Set just after the civil war an unlikely couple ends up trying to save one dudes sister. This movie looks incredible, scenewise and really caught me off guard. The acting is excellent for unknowns for sure.Acting comments in a zombie movie? absouletely. At times it dragged but for very good reasons.Tough movie to rate since this really isn't anything I expected. As a horror fan,I may have not liked it, but as a fan of movies I thouroughly enjoyed it. I give kudos to the makers of this movie for coming up with something so new to this genre and I expect to see very good things from this group very soon. 5.9/10 IMDB 5.2 (way to low) Pls enjoy however you find it.

Movie review:Ok not drama, but those who know me will realize I won't be posting many drama reviews LOL. Anyway,Very good anime movie bringing back original characters from the original. The cgi is seemless to the point of you may forget it is cgi.The story is simple, the bugs have taken over a ship and are trying to breach earth. The action is high octane, and using cgi made shooting the bugs much easier I am sure. The players are voice, but sounded great.Kudos to those that made this one.If you are a fan at all,of either Troopers or Anime in general you will love this. 6.4/10 IMDB 5.8. Welcome back Rico !

It was middle of the road, didn't try to be all about fighting or comedy, more drama really. The acting was fine, and yes Triple H held his own not getting wrapped up in the WWE thing.Rappaport was good for comedy.Plot was exactly what you expect, released from prison, drawnback into crime....etc.Parker Posey was great(what else is new).If you go in like some jackasses will assuming it's a wrestler, you wil say it sucked(before watching of course) and if you expect oscars, then you are high. Not bad overall, good download or netflix. 4.7/10 IMDB 4.5 side note At times i actually saw some decent acting out of Triple H (Paul Levesque).
