12 Hour Shift (2020)

Updated: 6 days ago

My quick rating - 5.6/10. Popped this one on while I am working and it was near the beginning of the list alphabetically. It's 1998 and over the course of one 12 Hour Shift at an Arkansas Hospital, A Junkie Nurse, Her Scheming Cousin, and a group of black market organ-trading criminals start a heist that could lead to all of their demise. This definitely was a violent one while still keeping the focus on the comedy aspect. Nice to see David Arquette get back into something, although it is a bit curious since his connection with wrestling always seems to pop up, since we also have Mick Foley show up in this one. There are a lot of side stories going on that they successfully tie together here in a pretty unique way. Well, a bloody way. It is pretty nice to see an indie like this succeed fairly well on such a limited budget. It is a lot more the story and the players here that drive this one to be so entertaining. Each character trying to get their hands on the "organs" in the cooler is so quirky yet convincing that it helps make all the jokes work that much easier. Aside from it tripping over itself a few times, overall, I was pretty impressed. Check it out if you want a quick laugh, since the 86 minutes blow by due to the constant pace this flick moves at.
