My quick rating - 3,6/10. Going in blind. Ok, I was but it had identified the wrong movie, now I know what I am watching. If you want to listen to a baby crying, this is the movie for you. I have no idea why Emma Roberts bothered with this one after reading the script. Nothing happens at all. Just painfully boring from the start as a couple moves into a house without really even checking it out. They meet their neighbor who is just a creepy Michael Shannon who gets no development and is used in scenes where one thing is said and then the other person just stares at you for painfully long stretches. If you don't believe me, the next time someone says something to you just look at them and in your head, count to 20 before responding. It isn't to add atmosphere or mystery, it just comes off as completely unrealistic and happens repeatedly in this movie. Although the baby crying will drown that out and you might not notice. Not really a good sign when the movie ends and you really don't know what happened. I didn't have that good "mindtrip" feeling though, more of a thought that the screenwriter didn't have a legitimate ending so why bother and just let the audience use their imagination? I really can only recommend this one if you want to be pissed off or are a soon to be mother and want to know what it might be like to be driven crazy by your newborns constant crying. That postpartum depression thing might have been the driving theme to this whole movie. It sure as heck wasn't horror or suspense.
