Bad Blood aka Boy #5 (2021)

Updated: Jun 25, 2022

My quick rating - 3,5/10. Going in blind. And this is going out with a shift+delete. What could have been an interesting story of a social worker who takes in a child who ends up being a vampire is turned into a snooze-fest. The story is alluding to a lack of action and more drama to it, which I am perfectly fine with but a few things need to happen to achieve entertainment with that. The biggest problem here is the acting is awful. The kid never talks at all and you would think being around since medieval times would have some things to say. Instead, he just stares around blindly, and when forced to do anything like acting, you can almost hear the director say "slap the needle out of his hand" since everything is so jilted. Secondly is the pacing of this which is just painful. It is a long 75 minutes due to the lack of anything going on and the constant scenes filled with silence. And the final thing which is so far-fetched is along with this complete lack of interaction and any kind of bond developed between the two, how quickly she is eager to serve up people to the kid for dinner. Just a completely lazy bit of writing there since there is no leading up to this or any reason aside from an occasional mention of some kid she had lost to the system in the past. But I would think going the extra mile in helping kids out would be FAR different than deciding to commit murder LOL. I would need some serious interactions to believe that sort of relationship had been developed, not some kid moping around all the time and staring blankly across the breakfast table. I would say if it wasn't for a solid idea, this would be utter trash, and regardless of budget, they failed on this one.
