My quick rating - 4.3/10. Based on actual events which it wouldn't seem much like an exciting story either way. But if the story was exciting, they definitely got two very talented actors to take part. Only problem is that it seemed they were both sleepwalking through this flick. If you wanted to make a case for one or the other as to why their performances were so bland, be it age or a wrong role, that would be fine. But for both of them to show no lack of interest in this means it was something more. That typically points to the director, Adam Lipsius, in this case. Still, in a story of a man dying of cancer trying to get justice for those who robbed him, you would think Richard Dreyfuss would bring something to the table. And with his daughter Mira Sorvino as a cop tangled up in the whole mess somehow or other, the cast just screams out "gold." Too bad you don't get anything worthy of their names. The plot is pieced together as it goes, which may have more to do with sticking to the story, but it was just so bland. Suffice it to say, if it wasn't for the cast, this movie would've sunk far lower than this. The corrupt cop and retiring officer routine has been done many times before and much better. Too bad it just wasn't in capable hands to get it directed properly. Then again, I don't think the screenwriter helped much there either.
