D-Railed (2018)

Updated: Jul 25

My quick rating - 4.1/10. Passengers on a murder mystery train that crashes into a river must decide whether to risk waiting for help in the wreckage or take their chances in the murky depths below. This is one of those trailers that ends up exceeding the quality of the film. The flick doesn't have nearly the suspense shown and most of the scenes with the monster are so dark you cannot make out what is happening. I also do not know what Lance Henriksen is doing in this below-average b-budget flick. Maybe he owed someone a favor since it wasn't for the finished product. I suppose the script may have been an interesting read since it dabbles in quite a few genres without ever sticking the landing on any of them. The flick chugs along (I had to) at a decent pace and you will most likely have a glimmer of hope at it being at least a worthwhile distraction but then it works its way into the finale and goes completely off the rails (pun intended). Yet with the negatives abound I still found the movie to be strangely watchable and I never felt like I was suffering through it for the sake of my OCD about finishing films once I have started them. So maybe you can let the poor acting and lack of tension slide and get a bit of entertainment out of it. I somehow did.

Amazon and a couple of streamers have this along with some freebies.
