Deathwell (2020)

My quick rating - 2,8/10. I have no idea how the makers of this one could afford to pay enough people to get this to be at a 4 on IMDB even. I feel like I am being generous to be honest. Nothing really happens in this movie, literally at all. Using the marketing gimmick "noir" is an insult, and saying pre-apocalyptic was just an excuse to get a sci fi tag added to a movie that has zero to do with science fiction. Or thriller, or drama. The crime part is there, since it just stole 79 minutes out of your life. I'd like to tell you the point, but it is a muddled mess of incoherence. Some guy gets his drug fix, starts wigging out, then the editor starts putting in random scenes for no reason. Speaking of editor, the editing in this movie is horrid. A couple scenes have the "dropped the needle randomly on a record" sound to it. That is just to add to the other problems like acting. Staring into space isn't much of a stretch in any actors bag of tricks, and the main character has that one nailed to a tee. Every scene that may have had potential to lead to something happening doesn't. It is really frustrating to think that someone at Amazon saw this and thought "Yeah, let's put that out there." Press down on the remote and find something else. And ignore these other 2 reviews, they had to be smoking the same stuff Izzy was (or the director phoned in a favor and begged)
