My quick rating - 8,7/10. Been trying to find time to get to this one (subtitles). Now will do. WOW, so glad I did. This flick is so good on many different levels. I hope the committee has the balls come Oscar time for this one. Having a hard time figuring out where I am going to place this one in the archive. A case can be made for quite a few genres throughout. I am giving my choice for #Oscars2023 best picture a second watch right now before review. The path they chose to tackle the multiverse just made this one so much fun. It is hard to describe the sheer genius in writer/directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert story. Not only to come up with the crazy nature of crafting this story but then being able to put it onto film in a coherent and completely entertaining way. Starting with Michelle Yeoh as a Chinese immigrant laundromat owner who is unexpectedly recruited into a fight for the multiverses existence. Adding to this is some other great performances including Ke Huy Quan (yes, Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom) and Jamie Lee Curtis as the evil tax auditor, at least in one of the many universes that are explored. The completely comical and frenetic way we are guided through this interdimensional jumping is absolutely must see. Borrowing the fun of a Jackie Chan movie leaving everything in the surroundings as fair game, here they take it past that using all props as well as the environment for truly creative choreographed sequences. Stephanie Hsu provides the perfect villain in what sounds as a silly comedy but as you go further into the plot, you realize it does have some profound meaning deeply hidden within. Even if you don't understand the flick which definitely could happen you will still be intrigued in the whole process. It is like when you start daydreaming about nothing in particular and thoughts at random hit your mind. Except this is an organized 139 minutes of such uncontrolled chaos. An original and unforgettable experience of a flick that the title couldn't be more right about since you do get a bit of everything, everywhere and all at once.
Streaming on Showtime as part of an Amazon free trial or can be bought as well at Apple TV, Amazon Video, Google Play Movies, YouTube, Vudu, Microsoft Store, Redbox, and DIRECTV. I think I covered them all for ya.
