My quick rating - 5.5/10. This show starts off with a really intriguing premise and I thought I was in for a sure-fire hit. But as soon as the writers or directors, whoever is to blame, completely veered off course and proceeded to tear down the characters. My problem is each part of this investigative team that Shanola Hampton as Gabi introduces shows more depravity than the last one. Gabi herself starts off on the low moral end since right away we see she has kidnapped the guy who had abducted her years before. But that was part of the fascinating part, using this man to solve other people's crimes and finding those missing that the regular police department had no time for. Yes, they are working a racial angle which is perfectly fine but the problem is not who they are looking for but how it goes deeper and deeper into breaking the rules to find them. So she starts off doing wrong and the snowball effect just drags everyone else into doing wrong episode by episode until I had no idea who or why I would root for anyone in this show. So that is my issues that also lead to the positives of it. I don't mind going against the law to save a child's life for one moment so this squad can use all the unorthodox methods it desires. I just wish the characters weren't written to be so morally bankrupt and easily corrupt. I found it distracting along with the same message from the captor to the captive rammed down your throat over and over. Aside from that, the acting is fine and the tension does build between the whole season storyline while addressing each episodes individual plot simultaneously to keep your interest. I am sure I would be willing to watch another season but at the same time, I won't lose sleep if it doesn't come back. Not sure that helps anyone reading in their decision to check it out or not LOL. I guess that is up to you, as it always should be.
