Horizon Line (2020)

Updated: Apr 24

My quick rating - 5.1/10. I actually didn't mind this movie, BUT since I have never been a pilot nor know a whole lot about aviation, I have some serious issues with this movie. I have to think that quite a LOT of what happens in this movie are complete bullshit. The story itself gives you something to think about. You and another are on a small plane ride to island hop, and the pilot (Keith David) dies. So we have Sara (Allison Williams), who has taken a couple of flight lessons, and an extremely shady Jackson (Alexander Dreymon) left to try and fly to safety. Sounds plausible, yet no instrumentation seems to be working properly after the initial plunge, and then the movie just flies off the rails (complete pun intended). I have to lean toward there is no way you are going to climb out onto the wing of a plane in flight and start fixing shit on the wing. This, of course, is not the only thing I have to throw the penalty flag on, but I'll let you discover the rest. Back to the shady dude, terrible acting, OR there was supposed to be a reason for it, and they forgot to write the rest of his story. And when you get 3 people in a movie and one sucks, that is a bad ratio. At least Williams was decent and David is always good, but was dead far too quick to count. Had a lot more potential, but all the stupidity just led you to the exact ending you KNEW it would, even if they teased the ending I prayed they would have the balls to pull off. They didn't.
