My quick rating - 5,4/10. A fairly effective buddy movie, this time Owen Wilson is the second rate spy and he gets assigned to work with Flloyd Maywe......I mean Eddie Murphy, the more mouth than talent boxer who is undefeated and is the CIAs ticket into an event in Hungary to stop the sale of a top secret plane. This includes bad guy Malcolm McDowell as the one who stole it and is peddling it off to the highest bidder. Joining the spy team, which I don't even think they ever gave a name to, so I went with CIA, is Famke Janssen, and I'll leave it at that. There is all your usual spy fun, double crosses, high and low tech gadgets, and plenty of wise cracks. Overall, their chemistry works fine but the relationship is very rushed in its formation and the coming and going of it. If you watch, you'll see what I mean. It is just real quick, ok, friends, now not, now friends again kind of thing, and the movie is too short for so many of these transitions. Also unfortunately, the plot is very predictable, so even though the cast is stellar, the story itself just isn't. Still a good time waster.
