My quick rating - 6,1/10. Here we have a story of an American who decides to basically preach to Muslims about Jesus Christ on national TV from Cairo, and ends up being kidnapped on charges of being a spy by Iranians. The movie itself looks very good and uses the locale to its advantage. Instead of being a silly Rambo type flick from here about a rescue, this one is a bit more realistic in its portrayal of it. The acting is done well as the story moves along. My problem with this is if it is going to not go the popcorn action route of a rescue, it should not follow the formula of the rah rah USA type flick. I personally thought while hearing Caviezel speak before being abducted "Are you really that stupid to say that on TV in the Middle East?" And if I can identify that, you would think someone in his position (which they are very murky about what that was) would be smart enough to keep his mouth shut. So the wife has to fly over (dumb) to save the day, and from there you would have to see it to find out. Still a good flick that looks good, acted well, and was also made during covid (at least parts of it) so for all the constraints there must've been, this turned out worth the watch.
