Land of the Dead (2005)

My quick rating - 6.1/10. Within the walled city of Fiddler's Green, the last vestiges of the American population have formed a society separate from the hordes of zombies that roam the countryside. The leader of the enclave (Dennis Hopper) has a special recon unit led by Riley (Simon Baker) and Cholo (John Leguizamo) who take their men out in an armored vehicle called "Dead Reckoning" to search for supplies and special items for the elite of the city. Internal class and power struggles and a cadre of seemingly purposeful and intelligent zombies combine to make the continued existence of Fiddler's Green tenuous, and a showdown between the living and the dead inevitable. I had seen this one a while back and just never got around to rating it. Pretty much any time George A. Romero gets involved, you know it is going to be quality and this is no different. There is the typical social class structure being exploited and how certain classes get different privileges than others as Romero keenly often points out to his audience. But yet another solid entry into the Dead series.

You can check this one out on a handful of streamers for $4.
