Movers Ultimate (2022)

Updated: Aug 23, 2022

My quick rating - 4,1/10. No idea about this one but you can catch it on Amazon if you like. Infuriatingly inconsistent humor throughout this whole movie. Basically, the two leads should've just kissed at the beginning since the whole movie you are waiting for the bromance to become something else. Anyways, this is a swing and a miss for the most part. I say that only because when it is on, there are some really funny moments. But the whole thing is so uneven. The humor, the rest of the cast, the point of this entire movie cannot even decide what it wants to be. And considering it doesn't succeed in being any of the obvious influences it has, be it American Pie or Office Space, it also does nothing to stand on its own. The script had its potential but I do believe this was far more a vanity project for Ben Rood than anything else. I would solidly stand behind that had he acted one of the main parts. It is highly possible he would've done a better job. As far as a story goes, a moving company takes the clearly undersold call for a moving job, which instead of being quick and painless, ends up being much more painful. For one of them, literally. Annalese Poorman completely overacts her character as the bitchy woman moving from mansion to modest and expects the crew to work miracles in the move. I have never heard of Sé Marie but she stands out as the only one that appears to have talent in this cast and amusingly enough, I checked her bio and she is in something I have been waiting to get, I mean see, called CarousHELL. Still, for a crude humor flick, it hits the usual suspects in jokes. Just don't expect it to be any better than average, no matter how many buddies and cast members say otherwise on IMDB.
