My quick rating - 5,7/10. I recently enjoyed the first one (review) and now that the sequel is out, there is no reason not to hit it. It seems after the events of the first, the team of Aniston and Sandler have taken up detective work full time. And following in their same level of aptitude, they are in way over their heads in doing so. Still bumbling along trying to make ends meat, they get an unexpected invite to their buddy The Maharajahs wedding (returning Adeel Akhtar). I doubt it is going to be a spoiler in letting you know that someone gets murdered at the wedding and our happy couple finds a way to jump right up the suspect list yet again. The two have such great comedic sense that they keep this whole retread of what you just saw a couple years (or weeks for me) back still quite entertaining. It seems you can go in thinking it will just be a borefest and they still surprise you with some interesting twists and well timed laughs. Much of the cast from the first end up on the guest list as well so if you were fans of any other quirky characters, including the hilarious Colonel played by John Kani you are in luck. THis time around is so much of the same with a higher budget to play with so you can expect more extravagant action and more nice locations to look at. Going the opposite route and giving this movie shit would be so easy since it has all the cliches, recycles its own material and keeps trying to throw you off the track of the killer. But as you are watching, all this gest brushed aside and you realize it is exactly what it is supposed to be, light-hearted fun. Safe for your "Netflix & chill" evening and back to back will only put you out 3 hours. I am sure that isn't an accident by the media giant.
Netflix is the place to check them both out.
