My quick rating - 7,4/10. This one just moved into first for a U.S. movie at the global box office. For a pretty good reason actually, since this is one of the better of Daniel Craigs Bond flicks (I am still partial to Skyfall) After James has decided to pretty much hang it up and relax for a bit, Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) has talked him back into the fold only to find that M (Ralph Fiennes) has replaced him with a new oo7, Nomi (Lashana Lynch). They will have to work together to find a British biological weapon that they believe was lost to Spectre. Instead, we have a new villain to worry about though played by Rami Malek. I am mentioning this cast since they are all very well placed and acted throughout. As with most Bond flix, the movie starts with an excellent car chase down the narrow streets of a village in Italy. There are no shaky cameras or any type of cheating to hide anything, just a nicely shot sequence from start to finish. This is a high point to begin that made me realize once the credits rolled that being such a long movie there was not a single stand-out spectacular action scene like these tend to have. It isn't very noticeable though since my attention was kept with the story that was being told. Mutliple bad guys, new characters, and James's reunion with Madeliene (Léa Seydoux). Plenty of story to keep things going so I never felt like things were going slow. Maybe being 163 minutes, it seemed like there weren't too many action scenes but as I am typing this I am realizing it actually kept up to speed with those as well. All the expected tropes are used and even highlighted by the crew, to the extent they were joking about Malek and how he was just using the same old evil villain plans he has seen before. You get some double-crosses along the way and an expected huge threat to humanity that the one and only hero can save us from. All and all a very entertaining flick that might even win over some new fans. It wouldn't be necessary to see the previous from the last 15 years or so, but you will be missing out on some of the interactions of the characters and what makes the moments special. I am sure you have read that this is supposedly the last foray into oo7 for Craig and I think this one did justice with a proper farewell.
