My quick rating - 3,0/10. Tonight's choice is new SciFi and chosen due to length. 61 minutes. "Danny's gone" - woman response "What do you mean he is gone?" I mean how much clearer can the statement be??? This is the kind of dialogue you can expect. He goes for a walk in the morning, then supposedly the two friends look for him all day and night, get back to find him home, and flip out at him for disappearing. At no point did either of the two think to check back at the cabin? Oh, sorry that is the story, 3 friends head out to an AirBNB to gather themselves after being quarantined in LA as we all can relate to when one of them decides to poke some strange-looking thing on the ground which ends up "biting" him. It seems that some alien life forms decided to take refuge in the woods in the middle of nowhere presumably waiting for a host to latch onto. Then slowly it wants to take over the humans one at a time. The good news is there are only 3 so it doesn't take long and apparently wasn't a well-thought-out plan by the extraterrestrials. No one else is going to show up for a while. The shoestring budget is apparent but that really didn't matter much. The story was supposed to drive this but it stalled very early and left me bored. And in a one-hour long movie, that is a really bad sign. I suppose somehow if you can get past the idea of some dude taking off his glove to reach down and touch something that is clearly marked with a "do not touch" sign on it, you may be ok with the rest of this but I suggest go back and watch Invasion of the Body Snatchers. This is clearly a ripoff of that and done so poorly comparatively that the reminder of how great that 1978 flick is (the 1956 one is also superior, I just prefer Donald Sutherlands take) will do you plenty of good.
