Project Legion (2022)

My quick rating - 3,7/10. It is popping under horror/scifi so why not since I don't have high hopes and I am working anyways? If you were wondering what "Cowboy" Donald Cerrone has been up to since retiring from UFC, I can assure you it is NOT acting lessons. He also may want to find an agent that reads scripts before sending them over since this one should have been red-flagged immediately. Then again, it was more than likely sold as an Omega Man on a budget. But where those versions would star the likes of Charlton Heston or Will Smith, this one doesn't grab an actor even sniffing the caliber of them. Slightly unfair to put Cerrone in a role that takes acting chops to carry scenes his first time out. In case you are unaware of all those mentioned, this is another take on the story of a plague that wipes out humanity leaving in its wake demonic monsters ready to kill any survivors. Cerrone plays Greg who is stuck in his apartment and just trying to escape while being terrorized by the shapeshifting forces at his door. The movie does have a nice and creepy opening to set up the twist for an ending but it really isn't enough to save this flick. It just plods through the motions of some soldier fighting his sanity for an hour. If you are a fan of people crab walking on their hands and feet being "terrifying" then you'll love this but other than that niche, there isn't a whole lot to recommend here.
