My quick rating - 5,1/10. Maybe it is because so many from the past year have sucked so bad, but I thought this one was pretty decent. I have to remember that not every urban legend flick is going to be as good as Candyman and give them a chance. This is another in that realm of stand in front of the mirror and say "i believe in bloody mary" types, this time allowing the queen of spades through the mirror to possess and kill. I was pretty impressed visually with the scares and creepy look to our witch like demon. There isn't a whole lot of explanation to the why in the folklore, so don't expect a great story. After the spirit has been unleashed, the 4 kids track down the author of a book that has some knowledge in dealing with the queen and he extremely reluctantly ends up helping the survivors in beating her. The experts hesitance in doing so is quite comical as well. The younger girl and main star Ava Preston does a decent acting job as she also has to take the role of the queen for a stage. The whole formula is here and done well enough to check out.
