My quick rating - 5,7/10. A Reno 911 Xmas special??? Yes please!!! I will make sure you are aware I am a huge fan of the TV show and have been keeping up with the squads antics ever since the show finished its run. I will say that this entry and last years Hunt for Qanon are very much comparable as far as quality goes. For me, it is a step down from the shows pretty consistent comedic chops. That doesn't mean it isn't entertaining to get the whole crew back for another mission, it just doesn't quite live up to the creative standards the show did. That is my only gripe since this time around, they are still bumbling there way through another simple assignment. To begin, Officer Dangle (Thomas Lennon) is visited by an angel and is shown what life in Reno would be like had he not been there to interact with his fellow officers including what fame Officer Weigel (Kerri Kenney) may have enjoyed among others. After he snaps out of this, Dangle is determined to enact his insanely inappropriate Christmas show and must find a location. Luck has it that a local mall is in need of some protection. This turns out to be guarding a nugget of something? that is extremely valuable. Of course, the constant witty dialogue is ever present throughout and often times completely out of place. All the regulars do return to keep the artifact safe. The sight gags will have you laughing as well. My complaints are some of the gags go on too long and don't end up with a comedic payoff worthy of the extended setups. But let's face it, anytime Reno 911 is going to grace us with another adventure, there will be some laughs to be had even if it doesn't quite live up to the lofty standards it set a couple decades ago. Definitely caters to the fans since some of the jokes will go way over your head including the opening but will still be an entertaining way to spend 79 minutes this holiday.
