My quick rating - 6,2/10. I enjoyed the first one so even if I am more of a Marvel guy, time to check this one out. The flick is an entertaining and action-packed sequel that builds upon the success of the first film. The movie takes us on a wild ride as we follow Billy Batson's adventures as Shazam, and his struggles to balance his superhero life with his normal teenage existence. The casting was also a standout feature. Zachary Levi is perfectly cast as the lovable and goofy superhero, and his chemistry with the rest of the cast is evident throughout the film. The supporting cast, including Lucy Liu and the phenomenal Helen Mirren, also deliver strong performances that add depth and heart to the story. One of the highlights of the movie is the impressive visual effects and action sequences. The fight scenes are well-choreographed and exciting, and the use of my favorite candy, Skittles to tame a unicorn is a fun and creative touch deserving of a bonus point. The movie also does a great job of exploring the relationships between the various characters, including Billy's foster family, his superhero colleagues, and the villainous gods. Overall, this Shazam sequel is a fun and enjoyable movie that will appeal to fans of the first film as well as newcomers to the franchise. While it may not be a perfect movie, it's certainly a worthy addition to the superhero genre and a great way to spend a couple of hours in front of the screen.
