My quick rating - 4,8/10. Shudder original that had to get edgy and add a word to the movie title. This actually wasn't a bad effort here. The simple plot of 3 ex-cons given a second chance as movers (Second Chance Movers lol) are hired to empty out a house and given overnight as a time frame to do it. But they are given 2 off-limit areas, the title, and the basement. The movie would've been extremely short if that had happened and also quite boring. The convicts are portrayed reasonably well with some of the dialogue sounding quite realistic. Being a mix of comedy and horror, this one does lean further into the horror and is effective in setting up the jump scares if that is your thing. It doesn't take long to figure that Vern (Michael Flynn) is a bit off, to say the least. How far off is part of the plot as a whole, so I'll leave that. It does start out slow but as it gets going, it does keep your attention. I ended up finishing this one quite satisfied but due to some good characters and a semi well-hidden twist sprinkled in, I also felt cheated since it could've been much better. Always a plus is some quality practical gore effects that are used at the appropriate times and are not the focal point of the flick. As far as these Shudder films, this one is worth a look and one of the better that they have put out.
