My quick rating - 3,3/10. The movie looks really good visually. Such a great setting to use for the haunted mansion these kids go on a little psychology class trip to. The acting is adequate and includes the only person living that appears to be immortal, Michael Berryman. He just doesn't age in anything you see him in. So with this, some money for a budget, what could be missing???? Oh yes, an actual story. There absolutely isn't one, just some flashbacks that occur to the individuals, most often the dudes drowning sister, and there is no story to tie these things together. And then beyond that, there is nothing tying this Mad Hatter "thing" to the whole premise as well. So as a viewer you are just stumbling through the nice images and camerawork adding story in for the lazy writers who didn't bother to entertain yourself. Too much work for me since all I got out of it was irritation at the inept attempt that was presented. Very much an example of the trailer far exceeding the movie, and I guess IMDB agrees since it is now sitting at a 2,7 LOL Not that should matter but typically on a low amount of raters, the numbers are sky high due to those who worked on the movie giving it 10s. Not even that is saving this near turkey.
