My quick rating - 4,8/10. I just got the sequel to this and I haven't seen the first one but when I see a Troma logo on the front, I know it is right up my alley. There is always a difference between MADE by Troma and distributed by Troma and this one is the latter. So it is already doing its best to imitate, starting with the quirky characters and immediate killing. We have 5 girls having a sleepover while the parents are away for the weekend. For no good reason, they are already taking off their clothes for no reason, as ALL men know is what exactly happens at girls' sleepovers. Will they break out the pillows???? Writer/director Brandon Bassham is clearly a fan of the B-budget pioneers and is putting his slasher take on this one. The acting was as expected for this type of flick except Anna Callegari seems out of place by a fair amount due to her acting skills. The movie is very much comedy first before horror since at no point will you get a scare or even a hint of tension from this. Everything is tongue-in-cheek even while people are being murdered. Why would your eyeball hanging out of its socket stop anyone from cracking a couple of jokes? They had a good time with the blood and made sure to splatter it around as much as possible. Quite an amusing entry into the library of comedy/horror flix that are clearly made as a parody of the slashers and doesn't pretend to be anything but that. I would usually complain since it isn't a true Troma product but I was pretty entertained for the silliness it brought so as long as you go in knowing there is not an ounce of seriousness to this "horror" flick, you may have fun with it as well.
