My quick rating - 4,8/10. I am not really feeling this poor animation style. Regardless of the apparent throwback style of the drawing, I really wanted to like this one. But the story is quite a mess. It tries to tell an epic tale of witches, and magic but it just plays out like shorts pasted together with no coherent storyline to it. The characters will carry over but as a whole, it didn't work. The voice acting is done very well so I have to give credit there. And since I have seen some of this type of animation in the past (way back) I know where they were going with it. But it wasn't done very well. The actors were to separate from the landscapes and made it look "off." The weird billing of it being an "Ultra-violent, epic fantasy" is really tooting its own horn. It isn't epic at all, only teasing any passage of time really. As far as the violence goes it doesn't even hold a candle to what we are seeing in the superb "Castlevania" series on Netflix. Not in either aspect. I think the "less is more" thing is trendy now, and that is why people are so enamored with this one. But to be honest, it is very forgettable once the credits roll. By the way, I typically am a fan of all sorts of animated features.
