My quick rating - 6,3/10. I had seen this years ago of course, but with "The Suicide Squad" coming out today, I figured I better remind you that many Hollywood stars got their start with Troma. Yes, before their was "The Guardians of the Galaxy" a certain James Gunn was lending his dark sense of humor to the home of independent film. And what a crazy pairing this one is. Shakespeare + Troma turns out to be one hell of a ride. The offbeat characters are the stars of this one for sure. Sean Gunn, yes, James brother, plays an insane Sammy Capulet. To be honest, the whole house of Que and Capulet gangs are all such an oddball assortment of piercings, murder and plain strange that they can only be outdone by the next. And the whole story, and it is just as you know of the Shakespeare tragedy is narrated by the one and only Lemmy (RIP). Well, except this time around it is about stealing the rights to a porn film company by the Capulets from the Montaques. But the love story remains intact. The action is non-stop from beginning to end in true Troma fashion with all the beheadings and comic book gore they can cram into every frame. And when they aren't trying to gross you out, they are throwing offbeat incest jokes and any other bit of humor at you in any attempt at making you laugh. Literally nothing is off limits for 102 minutes of this one. Nudity? Of course that will also be covered including your now typical girl on girl scene. This is still Troma after all, even if it is a step above their usual b-budget greatness.
