Zebraman (2004)

My quick rating - 6.6/10. I read this was a pretty interesting flick a while back and it happened to pop up on Radarr. So much campy fun that reminded me a lot of the old Spectreman show I would occasionally find on UHF when I was home sick from school. If you know the brilliant work of Takashi Miike and are expecting the exquisite violence he is so known for, this is NOT your flick. You can tell it must've been a pet project of his to make happen. Being a failure as a teacher and a family man, Shinichi tries to escape everyday life by dressing up as "Zebraman", the superhero. Although the TV series was canceled after only 6 episodes, this cannot stop him from acting out his escape fantasy in a self-made zebra suit. He gets more than he could ever wish for when his black-and-white dressed alter-ego seems to be the only thing to stand between absolute (green) evil and a happy ending.

Stream it, rent it, or buy it al from Amazon (or a couple other streamers)
