Zeros And Ones (2021)

Updated: Dec 11, 2021

My quick rating - 3,2/10. I am a fan of Ethan Hawke typically so what seemed like a pet project for him sounded right up my alley. He opens and closes this movie with his own intro/outros which seem to be an attempt to legitimize watching this mess. He mentions and I know to be true about Abel Ferrara that most people just don't want to be associated with his flicks because he likes to strike nerves with his audience. I have to admit, about the only thing he has made that has any relevance in my filmography was Bad Lieutenant. Enough back to this one, the whole thing is about a soldier who is trying to uncover the try enemy is that is threatening the world. Sounds like an exciting proposition but this movie is more like a slew of shorts that got stitched together to make a movie. And maybe that is what it is since it must have been done during COVID. But that is still making a lot of excuses for a movie that also had no story to back up what we were being fed. Too much shaky camera footage, lack of coherence and just an overall waste of time. Enjoy at your own expense since labeling this "action" is a huge stretch but have to tag it somehow.
