Bandidos: Season 1 (2024)

My quick rating - 6.4/10. A quirky hustler recruits a gang of skilled misfits to find the Snake King's treasure in the Maya Riviera. Juan Pablo Medina plays Wilson, the leader of this merry little group who gets his hands on a treasure map and has to recruit some help to find it. Even the cover makes sure to advertise one of the key players he enlists, Ester Expósito as Lili. Also in this cast is a highly regarded actor Bruno Bichir who I recognized from Sicario: Day of the Soldado although I know I have seen him elsewhere as well. The entire cast does a very nice job and plays off each other's characters quite well. The cast isn't quite as bizarre as the recent Obliterated but still utilizes the same ensemble method. It is a fun mystery adventure romp with some great-looking scenery to keep your visuals entertained. The usual suspects of this type of caper are also included so you can expect some heroism, double-crosses, and villains with their need to explain the whole damn plot for no reason. All the requirements for a Netflix and binge type of show. I watched the dubbed version which has become almost a necessary evil due to my eyes not being up to snuff anymore in my old age and didn't find the translation ever being stupid or out of place. As always the actual spoken language with subtitles would be best assuming they did a proper translation there. Definitely worth a watch for fans of the hidden treasure adventure flix.

Netflix is where you will catch this one.
