Evil At The Door (2022)

Updated: Apr 1, 2022

My quick rating - 2,7/10. Barely escapes the #turkey tag. This is a highly flawed effort in a very crowded subgenre of home invasion flix. I thought the strange professional manner of how this cult decided to do these invasions was about the only positive I took out of this. That is pretty much your plot, just a guy who comes home after work to deal with a surprise visit from his sister-in-law only to get a much larger surprise as intruders will force them all to survive. I just wish that for some reason this whole notion of these invasions all being coordinated and carried out across the nation at the same time got an explanation of a why. The only good thing this had going for it gets dismissed for terrible acting and repeated stupid decisions by both criminals and victims. They didn't bother with a shred of tension throughout the movie minus maybe the one scene you see on the poster below (which you can click on if for some UNKNOWN reason you'd like to check this out yourself.) All the events that the captors do throughout the occupation are on strict timers that the mysterious leader has laid out so in between those moments, a lot of nothing happens. This also includes that part you would expect from a low budget flick such as this, the kills. Nope, there is only one and it gets ruined by laughable CGI. Really just a test of your patience to actually make it through the 82 minutes. Good luck!
