Flee the Light (2021)

Updated: May 2, 2022

My quick rating - 2,3/10. Going in completely blind on this one. Took about 75 minutes, but something finally happened. I may actually be impressed that it is possible to make an 81minute flick and have so little happen in all that time. The urge to just turn it off was quite strong and when they actually blew their chance at some twist about midway through that honestly wasn't any revelation of storytelling, I knew it wasn't going anywhere. Instead, it is just some woman that is trying to get her life together by heading to a secluded house in the woods, where good things ALWAYS happen. While she is there she is plagued by visions of what you have to piece together is her past. Visions of extreme boredom like a dog looking at you. Pretty scary stuff. Of course, some of the other visions involve witches and pointless ceremonial dancing but since there is nothing ever occurring you won't be worried about figuring anything out. The acting was flat as can be which didn't help the anemic story since I really didn't care what happened either way. The creators here wanted to capture some sort of folk witch horror tale but just delivered a mess. Don't bother, not even if you like these kind of flix, it'll bore you to no end.
