My quick rating - 2,8/10. After the 3rd one, I really didn't think there would be much of an audience to go further but here we are. Not sure why guys in movies run so far away from the car to take a leak, especially in a forest in the middle of nowhere. Aside from literally no one actually doing that, walking for 3 blocks into the woods for no apparent reason LOL. This switch from actual outdoors to an indoor stage set was FAR from subtle. I am thinking stillborn is a more accurate term for this. This narrowly avoids a #turkey due to a couple of halfway decent scenes that weren't clearly in some warehouse using awful CGI. Speaking of, there has to be one of the worst used computer effects towards the end of throwing a crucifix-shaped lightning rod that looked so bad and rushed, it made me laugh. I pressed rewind and watched again for the amusement of how poor it was. If you know the story, this vaguely follows the "creeper" that rises every 23 years and hunts for 23 days although this one throws in some underdeveloped story of some coven trying to bring him to life, which in the lore of this he was coming back to life anyways, and also take some sacrifice for really no apparent reason. This part of the story is thrown in and then completely not used at all. There really is no way for me to know if it would've helped this mess of production though. I did appreciate Sydney Craven as the final girl here whom I have never seen before. Moving forward, I could see her getting some decent roles. The rest of the cast is really just there for fodder including the boyfriend, Imran Adams who negates her decent acting in every scene they are in together. But this is horror, why talk about acting, we need to know about the kills. Nothing really to report in this since they are near non-existent. A bit of gore in a few shots but nothing leading past pg-13 which this flick could've been rated, I don't even think there was the obligatory boob shot in here. I can only recommend it to really die-hard fans of the series but don't expect this to go anywhere further. Click the poster below if interested.
