Paganini Horror (1988)

My quick rating - 3,3/10. The 80s saw some true classic horror films by Argento, Fulci, Bava...and I suppose Cozzi figured he would give it a try. Granted the only other thing I knew he made was Hercules so I shouldn't be expecting much. As I am also sure you are wondering, that is a typo, and somehow they got Donald Pleasence in this movie. I guess they couldn't be bothered with spelling the well known actors name correctly. Aside from him, and Daria Nicolodi, the others couldn't act themselves out of a shoebox. The story goes, some band who rips off Bon Jovi in the beginning, literally, is horrible. So there friend goes and buys an infamous piece of work written by Paganini that has never been released, and will make them rich and famous. Instead, it is an invitation into hell. That about sums it up. Had the demon conjured up from this music looked anything like the cover portrays, I would've been scoring this up. Instead we get some dude wearing a mask bought at the local Halloween shop. The special effects are absolutely awful. To the point they should've just not tried them. The force field keeping them in the house, yeah, let it be invisible, don't try to do whatever they did to show you that it is there. The things Italian horror is known for, missing. So no over the top gore. Just a lot of nonsense. You may start to figure out what they are for in the coming reviews.
