Sin Eater (2022)

My quick rating - 3,1/10. No idea about this one but if you have any interest (I wouldn't), 99cent rental by clicking below from Amazon. I doubt it is worth that much. Just another run-of-the-mill girl has an accident and is taken in by a family that happens to be a cult. Yes, it does have Bill Moseley in it as the head of the family but he isn't delivering classic lines in this snoozefest. I will give credit to Jessie Nerud as the accident victim that is taken hostage by the family for doing the entire movie with her mouth wired shut. I was hoping to get some IMDB trivia to find out if that were actually true since it is damn convincing if it isn't. Still, the plot is tired and doesn't bring anything you haven't seen before. The rest of the family isn't unique or even interesting. There are no scares to even speak of, nor kills. There are some scenes that are so dark you literally have no idea what is happening. But as all cults usually have, this one's agenda is to raise up an evil demon that has the job of being the sin eater. And the whole town is in on their religious beliefs so she is stuck being the chosen sacrifice. It has a few moments, mainly the beginning and the very end but these aren't elevated to recommend the movie type of scenes but merely raise out of #turkey territory type things.
