We are the Missing (2020)

Updated: Apr 18, 2022

My quick rating - 1,9/10. Another shuffle while I work. I see I stumbled upon another mockumentary. And a really poor one at that. The story here is about a young girl who goes missing and those around her who search to find out what happened to her. That is far more exciting than watching these wanna-be actors get interviewed repeatedly about what might have happened. There is no weaving of a plot or anything interesting to make you want to keep watching. Occasional mention of maybe UFOs, or some old wives tale of the dude who eats children by the lake. But guess how many of these or any damn story at all they pursue? NONE. The whole thing is fake interviews from start to finish. That is it. The characters are all bored quarantine neighbors, there is no mention of anything such as effects or camerawork since there isn't any story. Just boredom that got wrapped into an 83-minute package and somehow made its way into my New Release folder. It also made a hasty departure from said folder by the second it hit the 84th minute on my HDD. Terrible and boring is your 2-word review. Pop it on if you are having a hard time sleeping. It deserves no more of my time.
