John Mulaney: Baby J (2023)
My quick rating - 7,0/10. A chaotic intervention. An action packed stay in rehab. After a weird couple of years, John Mulaney comes out...

Discontinued (2022)
My quick rating - 5.8/10. A depressed millennial discovers that the world she knows is just a simulated version of reality that is being shut down. Suddenly, she's the only one who wants to stick around. The movie is sci-fi only in its premise; there is no actual budget here, so no spaceships or effects. That isn't a bad thing since I like the whole idea of this flick, I just wish they had done much more with it. Ashley Hutchinson does a nice job as the central character (S

Nate Bargatze: Hello World (2023)
My quick rating - 7.6/10. Actually got a run of work, so thought I'd pop on a new stand-up show. The comedian Nate Bargatze , the self-proclaimed "Nicest Man in Stand-Up," brings his signature affability and good-natured aw-shucks vibe to his third special (this time on Amazon ; the previous two are on Netflix ), which stands out among the darker, more confessional, and more cynical stand-up of our moment. He admits that most of his information about the world “does not c

Tammy And The T-Rex (1994)
My quick rating - 5.1/10. Ok, let me explain, first I saw Denise Richards and Paul Walker in a flick I have never heard of. Then I notice an "unrated" GORE version. OMG, that is a young Paul Walker with the exact same voice. We have one of those "testicular stand-offs"; this is starting off great. The humor in this is very stupid yet still entertaining in a weird way. I suppose a bit of the gore portion is this brain surgery with a jigsaw LOL. What a bizarre flick, some ma

Jim Jefferies: High N' Dry (2023)
My quick rating - 6.5/10. Work finally popped up, so stand-up it is. This was another solid set from Jefferies , which always seems pretty consistent and amusing for an adult crowd. He does, however, have an infatuation with my least favorite word out there, but beyond that, he delivers funny stuff. This one is a Netflix exclusive. The Slashening (2015)
My quick rating - 4.8/10. I just got the sequel to this, and I haven't seen the first one, but when I see a Troma logo on the front, I know it is right up my alley. There is always a difference between MADE by Troma and distributed by Troma , and this one is the latter. So it is already doing its best to imitate, starting with the quirky characters and immediate killing. We have 5 girls having a sleepover while the parents are away for the weekend. For no good reason, they

Marlon Wayans: God Loves Me (2023)
My quick rating - 6.5/10. I recently watched Chris Rock's show , where he touched upon the whole "slap" thing, and this is a perfect companion to go with that one. Marlon Wayans has a connection to all involved with that Oscar moment, and much of this routine is about that. The entire presentation is well-crafted to tell his story and is done to interject his jokes along the way. Definitely timely now, but I am not sure this would hold up for years to come due to much of it

Zane Lamprey: Tender Looks (2023)
My quick rating - 5.5/10. Very pedestrian stand-up set. He is mildly amusing, but the subject he focuses on is drinking booze. Keep that in mind since some of the jokes just won't make sense if you aren't into drinking. From his set, I gather he has some YouTube show, maybe? Or along those lines, where he goes around the world learning about the drinking culture of that area. In other words, he found a way to make money drinking abroad. If I could get away with that, I would

Kathleen Madigan: Hunting Bigfoot (2023)
My quick rating - 6.6/10. I have never seen her stand-up before, and I'll admit, she is pretty damn funny. I think the bit on boxed wine is pretty dead on if you can relate to that stuff. Nope, they don't have Franzia down here in case you are wondering. This one is streaming on Amazon prime video if interested. Kathleen Madigan: Hunting Bigfoot (2023) #comedy #IMDB #Plex

Chris Rock: Selective Outrage (2023)
My quick rating - 7.4/10. Not quite an 8 but definitely better than a 7. Just the bit about the "slap heard around the world" was worth watching the whole set to hear. Other than that part, it is his basic stand-up routine, which I personally find pretty funny. If you aren't a fan of his in general, you won't get anything out of this. Currently streaming on Netflix . I kept it as well since it was damn funny. Chris Rock: Selective Outrage (2023) #comedy #jackmeatsflix #IMDB

Cocaine Bear (2023)
My quick rating - 6.7/10. I have been looking forward to this one for a while, but not for the reasons as most of you. I read it was the last flick starring Ray Liotta , and I have always been a big fan of his. What a quirky cast of characters this one has. The movie itself is just a fun ride that takes its turn into the violent category when it wants to catch you by surprise. I can see why our fun little bear got to be a guest on the Oscars this year LOL. Honestly, the movie

Die Hart: The Movie (2023)
My quick rating - 5.0/10. I never did check out the TV show on Roku , so I am going solely off of this flick, which I guess is the episodes edited into movie form. Seems the latest trend for stars is to make a parody of themselves. There are far better examples of this happening lately after JCVD got the whole idea started. This flick follows Kevin Hart 's fictionalized journey to become an action movie star. The film revolves around his enrollment in a school run by Ron Wi

Triangle Of Sadness (2022)
My quick rating - 7.1/10. Another one of the Oscar nominees this year, and one I have no idea what it is about. That scene on the boat during the storm is priceless. I'll digress. The movie presents a captivating story of a group of strangers who meet on a luxurious yacht that takes them on a journey they never imagined. The film cleverly examines the dynamics of the human psyche and how people react under extreme pressure and stress. The characters presented are all quite u

Grotesque (2022)
My quick rating - 4.4/10. This is the epitome of a guilty pleasure. It starts out with bullying this poor girl for having a large nose. It is comically large on purpose, not just someone with a bigger-than-usual schnooze. The people are straight-up cruel to the poor girl, and the second half of the revenge in this one was well deserved. Elizabeth Chamberlain plays the abused woman who finally decides to get plastic surgery to repair her looks, but she is instead grossly dis

Sorority Babes In The Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama 2 (2022)
My quick rating - 3.4/10. I checked out the first Full Moon flick from this series back in August 2022 and was pleasantly surprised ( link ). I didn't know a sequel was coming, but here it is, and at 65 minutes, it fits the bill nicely. I had no idea women have so much fun in the showers. Nice of this flick to give us about 10 minutes of video evidence of it. They had to use this to set up the dumb frat guys to get caught videotaping them. Because a movie like this needs to

Pain & Gain (2013)
My quick rating - 6.6/10. Did the Rock appear in every movie throughout the summer of 2013? Anyway, this movie is based on a true story, which makes it that much better when you see it. Reason for this? These "criminals" have to be the dumbest people in the world. The story revolves around 3 fitness trainers or muscleheads who decide they want better things in life. Well, of course, the best way to get them is to steal them. The mastermind of this is Danny Lugo (played by Mar

Aliens, Clowns & Geeks (2019)
My quick rating - 3.0/10. I have NO idea what to expect with this one. But I will first make sure you all know I don't do drugs. And even if I did do drugs, I still don't think this crap would be funny. The story is directly out of the mouth of a child with a good imagination. Aliens and clowns are both chasing after a secret relic to rule the world, which pits them against each other. But to develop a kid's dream, our author/director Richard Elfman has to throw in some perv

The Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special (2022)
My quick rating - 8.0/10. You cannot honestly go and rate something like that. Just a really festive special with a feel-good story. Well, minus the kidnapping. It is so funny how, even still, they cannot take the Troma out of James Gunn . The opening musical number with his brother Sean Gunn just has that sense of humor and feel to it. There is actually a story going on in this one. Thinking that Peter Quill ( Chris Pratt ) had his Christmas ruined when he was younger by Y

The Binge 2: It's A Wonderful Binge (2022)
My quick rating - 4.8/10. I caught the first one and thought it was average. May as well give their holiday sequel a look. Ah, and why is it a Christmas flick? They moved the annual Binge to Christmas Eve. At times, this one was quite funny, but the other times, it was awful. There are some pretty good actors in this one as well, which you would think could've brought the production as a whole up, but it was tough to get through such a stupid story. It was almost like an an
